Uneyvu Butter Review

I had been hearing people rave about products by Belle Butters especially the Uneyvu Butter. I decided to take a look at the goodies Belle Butters had to offer and fell in love with almost everything. I came down to one product and it was the Unyevu Butter.

The product contains all natural ingredients: shea butter, raw pressed mango butter, refined avocado butter, apricot kernel oil, neem oil, sunflower oil, fragrance, and vitamin E.

Which makes the smell a mixture of greatness. It’s hard to describe the scent, but the best thing I could come up with was a sweet nutty scent.

The consistency was super rich and AMAZING!! It went on smooth and left my skin moisturized and feeling smooth like butta. Oh and this ish was long lasting too. By the end of everyday my skin was still very moisturized and smelled like that sweet buttery nut.20130314-004600.jpg

As you can see it was that damn good!! There is barely any left. LOL

The good thing about the item is that it can be used on the hair as well as the skin. In addition some of the Belle butters sales go to Charity Water and it’s packed with all natural ingredients, so it kinda makes it worthwhile.

Curlformers Results!!

20121227-193358.jpg

For the holidays I wanted something different, then it dawned on me that I had Curlformers (which are the long and narrow ones, if your wondering) tucked somewhere in my product junkie stash. LOL. I washed my hair and asked my mom to help me out with the process. At first installing the Curlformers was pretty hurtful. Being that I barely do much to my hair, my head felt extra tender. Once we got the hang of installing the Curlformers, the pain wasn’t so bad.

I was a little disappointed that a baseball sized of hair was still left out once we ran out of Curlformers. Maybe my head is too big LOL, or maybe we needed more hair in each Curlformer. Not sure which one but I will have to test that out on my next run. Being this, I had to dry the back half of my hair. Once it was dried I applied them to the front and dried. I really had no intentions of going to sleep with those things in my head. I like my sleep very well.

When my hair was all dry, the Curlformers were taken out. To my surprise some of the curls had frizzed up. So my mom thought it would be a good idea to redo the ones that were bushy.
It was back under the dryer for a bit and the finished products was this:

The product that helped me achieved the look was my Jane Carter styling mousse.

It came out pretty good I must say. My hair was now long enough to sport some drop curls. Go Me! Go Me!

Received these from Curlformers a while back when I first did my Big Chop and as you could probably think, I was not able to rock them bad boys until I gained a little length. Then 7 months natural I had me some long hair don’t care and some popping curls.

Now, let me tell you about when I actually wore them babies out. It was no where near what it had looked like once I first removed the Curlformers. I slept on them for two days and they looked like a hot mess!! LOL. Thankfully, I knew how to make them work for me. I just separated them bad boys and teased my hair up a bit and had me a curly bush. I liked it, although I preferred the initial take down results.

For my next try at applying my Curlformers, I plan to try a different setting lotion or holding creme and use bigger sections of hair in each Curlformer. As well I just might, sleep with them in. Lord, I can just imagine all the pain. Well, beauty is pain right? HAHA

Have you tried Curlformers?

How were your results?

Essentious Review

I As I mentioned a couple days ago I received many goodies from the lovely folks over at Brock Beauty, and I have a review for you all, of the Essentious products.

20121219-223907.jpg
This is how it went down….
I applied the Exonerate shampoo and cleansed my hair. It did the job and left my hair squeaky clean, literally. I wasn’t sure I liked that but it didn’t leave my hair feeling stripped or dry. Once, I rinsed the shampoo from my hair, I sectioned my hair into four (I’m hyped I could say that, team growing hair..lol). I applied the Rejuvenate strengthening protein conditioner to each section, and finger detangled. Let me tell y’all I was able to detangle with ease. I was extremely happy with that. I let it sit for about 8-10 minutes and rinsed. Once it was rinsed I applied the Hydrate conditioning treatment as directed. I put a plastic cap on and let it sit for about 45 minutes. After that was up I rinsed and these were my results.

I was loving how defined my curls were. I then followed up with the oil, which I must say smelled AMAZING; it smelled like a sweet candy caramel. Yummy!

I didn’t have any good pics of the hair once it was all dried but you can kinda see that my curls were on point.

“Just A Simple Solution”… Jass it up!

After realizing that a product she had been using on her clients which she thought was all natural, Janel decided to create
Just A Simple Solution also known as JASS products. To showcase her line she hosted an event at her salon CocoaMane which I was given the opportunity to be a part of. It was definitely a great event, with hair demonstrations, drinks like the Jass Passion, food by Mama CocoaMane, and an introduction to the products, as well as the “natural bar”.

Time to get to the nitty gritty…..I would first have to acknowledge how good that seafood lasagna was, mmmmmm. Janel and Mama Cocoamane owned me with that one. Lol. The drinks were super delicious; sweet with that sparkle.
I’m such a foodie!!!

The demonstrations were awesome as we got details into what products work best for various styles and we even got the chance to check out those products. Now y’all know I’m a sucka for a good scent, and this passed the smell test. Especially with that all natural oil. The decor of the salon was extra amazing and super sexy; I was in love with the chandeleir and all the amazing reds scattered beautifully around the salon. Oh and the best part of the salon is that they have a natural bar where natural hair treament’s are mixed right there on the spot. Now tell me that ain’t super fly…Check out pics below:

By the way I got some goodies as well.. so stay tuned for details and reviews of the product!

Kinky Curly Wash ‘n Go

Today’s products….

20120531-190713.jpg

If you have read my Curl Daze post, you know that I won the whole Kinky Curly product kit. So today I decided to try some of the products out. I chose the above Knot Today Detangler/Leave In and the Curling Custard.

To prep my hair I applied some water, Vatika Oil and the Wen Intensive Hair Treatment. After applying I twisted my hair adding some of my castor oil mixture. I then covered my hair with a shower cap and my satin bonnet leaving it overnight.

This morning I washed the contents of the Wen Intensive Hair Treatment out of my hair with the twists still in. The Kinky Curly Knot Today was applied twice, then I untwisted my hair and rinsed.

Once out of the shower I applied more Knot Today and combed through my hair in sections using the Curling Custard. I then ended with the results below…

How I felt about the results….the Knot today left my hair feeling clean and very moisturized, though it did leave my hair feeling a bit striped. The Curling Custard did define my hair and left my hair smelling like candy which I liked. The down side was it made my hair feel like I had candy in it, that was not fun at all.

I would definitely try the products again using less of the Curling Custard. I really feel I have not mastered my measuring skills when defining my curls with Gel like products. Better luck next time.

Original Moxie Product Review :)

I had been hearing a multitude of raves about the “Original Moxie” products, so this past weekend I decided to give it a try. This is how it went down….

I applied the Cupuacu Butter & Castor Oil Emollience Pre-Treatment and sat under the dryer for about 15 minutes with my conditioning cap. This product had a sweet and spicy and it wasn’t bad at all.

Following the treatment I sprayed my hair with water to detangle (I have found that detangling before washing works better for me).

I applied the Ith Yucca Root & Soap nut No-Foam Shampoo and cleansed my hair. My hair definitely felt clean after applying this cleanser. There were no suds in comparison to most of the cleansers I have used prior. My hair and scalp felt clean, and I just love that clean feeling.

Then my favorite out of them all the Hibiscus & Strawberry Intense Quench Conditioner. The smell…AMAZING! Even after enough of the product was on my hair, I just had the urge to apply more. It smelled that good.

I rinsed out the conditioner and did my curl pattern check. It seemed pretty okay. I then applied the Shea Butter & Pumpkin seed oil Detangling Conditioner to try and get the definition I wanted.

Some parts of my hair was defined and some not at all. My hair even had a dry feel and look. I didn’t really love it.

20120501-235636.jpg

I left it over night and the next morning I applied water to my hair using my spray bottle and applied the Ucuuba & Shea Butter Lux Locs Styling & Shine product. I hoped that this would give me the definition I was looking for, but surprisingly it didn’t.

I really thought my hair would react differently than it did. I would definitely try Original Moxie again(maybe on longer hair).

This is just my experience with Original Moxie but for you it may be different. You may love the way your curl pattern appears; you might even have longer hair so the outcome may be VERY different. Don’t hesitate to still try it, It may work better for you!

Try Original Moxie for yourself, head on over to originalmoxie.com to do so. Be sure to share your experience with me. I definitely want to hear about them.

Until next time…

Love,
