Imena Event

I was invited to attend Imena Salon for their holiday party a couple weeks ago and I had known pretty much nothing about the company. I did my research and was pleasantly surprised at what I had read. So I am going to share the wealth with you all, I can’t keep the goodies from my Goddess’ now.

20121223-135400.jpgIMENA is commited to providing services that promote healthy hair in an atmosphere that values customer service and education. Using the best products that promote growth and conditioning, your hair will not only look and feel great but will be healthy. Part of our mission is to help women find and become comfortable with their personal style and to help them learn how to showcase their individual beauty. While the goal is healthy hair, the ultimate goal is to promote greater self esteem and inner beauty by highlighting one’s outer beauty.

Sister Act on Broadway

I first would like to say Thank You to the amazing Imani of TribeCalledCurl for allowing me to be apart of such an amazing National Natural Hair Meetup Day event. I would also like to thank Shea Moisture for giving me the opportunity to win such an amazing prize of goodies.

As most of you know I won a couple of goodies on National Natural Hair Meetup Day. One of those prizes gave me the opportunity to see the amazing broadway show Sister Act and I absolutely loved it.

When your on broadway it’s just so much different. The lights, the action and most of all those amazing musicals. You gotta love NYC!

Well let me get on to tell you how AMAZING Sister Act was. It was a fun filled, and very comedic show starring the beautiful Raven- Symone and … among a cast many other talented actors and singers. When I tell you those people can sing…they can SANG. I loved every minute of it. Oh, and I loved that natural hair she was rocking during the show. Sadly, the show is only around for a short time. So if you haven’t seen it try your best to get some tickets fast. It’s a must see.

This experience was a great way to bring my summer days to an end. The best part of it all was I got to meet Raven-Symone. She was super sweet and has a beautiful spirit.

PS I’m hoping she stops by Aphrodite Kinks. 🙂

Was supposed to bring a curlfriend, but as you can see I had to bring a permed friend.

CurlBox x KBB recap

A couple weeks ago I had he honor of being apart of a meetup hosted by the beautiful Myliek teele of Curl Box and Karen Tappin of Karens Body Beautiful.
On this particular day the sun was out and there was no doubt summer had arrived. It was a scorching 95+ degrees, as curlies from all over beared the heat to be apart of an event by two well know naturals.

It was a packed house; full of giveaways, champagne, mingling, as well as both Myliek and Karen shared there hair story, which was definite motivation. It was an amazing event and word on the streets is there may be a second round. Stay Tuned.

Matermea x Karen’s Body Beautiful

I was able to read this amazing interview by Matermea with the Beautiful Karen of Karen’s Body Beautiful.

Here’s a little about Matermea:

mater mea is a celebration of the multifaceted lives of mothers of color in New York City’s creative fields, born from a simple idea: that mothers come from all different walks of life. In collaboration with these inspirational women, mater mea uses images and text to illustrate how they juggle womanhood, motherhood and their careers — and how all three worlds have influenced their unique sense of style. We hope you see a little bit of yourself in the mater mea moms who have let us into their most intimate setting: at home, with their children

The interview was a sneak preview into the life(FRO included) and home of Karen and beautiful daughter Imani. Be sure to check it out. I’m sure you will love it
